"Nature Lover" Card!
Hello, crafty friends! It's Michelle here, and I’m excited to share a delightful project with you
today that combines my love for nature with some fun and innovative techniques. If you’ve been
searching for a way to elevate your card-making game, you’re in the right spot! In this blog , I will
be guiding you through the steps to create a beautiful nature-themed card, while also
introducing a fantastic technique for making unique background papers that I’ve recently fallen
in love with.
So grab your supplies—especially a brayer, a gelli plate, and some shimmering
matte acrylic paints—and let’s dive into the creative world of card making! You’ll be surprised at
how easy and enjoyable it is to bring a little piece of nature to life right on your card. Let's get
started!

I started out using a brayer, a gelli plate and Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint in Honey Gold.
Apply a generous amount of the shimmering matte acrylic paint to the gelli plate and evenly distribute it with the brayer.

Next I layed down a Hole Punch TCW stencil and pressed a piece of card stock on top to pick up the paint. It's ok if you have leftover paint on your gelli plate from a previous project, it just adds to the layers of the piece and gives your print more interest. I make these in batches so there tends to be lots of layers and color overlap.

I then removed the stencil and pulled another print with the paint that was left on the gelli plate

Once I had a few fun background papers I picked one I liked and gave it a ripped edge then inked it up with a stamp pad for some distressing. Next I applied some Marble Plaster Stucco with a palette knife and pressed some bits of cheese cloth into it while it was wet and added some gold leaf flakes.

After all the mediums had dried I pulled out some 49 & Market die cuts and applied them to the card with some glue dots.

I finished it off by tying one of the tag die cuts with a piece of twine and then applied the whole piece to the front of a card.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed it and were inspired to make your own nature lover card for that someone special in your life.
