Hello everyone! Myry here with another little experiment with Shimmering Matte Acrylics!

The truth is that it has been very simple: water, lots of water... or maybe not too much, depending on the degree of color you want.
NOTE: If you are using more than 30% water with SMA it is suggested that you add Perfect Glaze Medium to the paints. This will allow increased stability of the pigment and also create a more transparent paint without sacrificing the color intensity. Perfect Glaze Medium works together with Shimmering Matte acrylic paints allow you to create brilliant, luminous glazes and increases the watercolor characteristics without decreasing durability.
So, I'm going to be practicing with these prints on 300gr watercolor paper.

Remember to use a surface where you can work the paints with the water and Perfect Glaze Medium.
This is what Ballet slipper looks like...

...and this is what the paint looks like if I add enough water. I haven't diluted it too much.

do you notice the difference with Coral?

And we started to paint!

I'm not using Coral yet, so I want you to see how I work with Rain slicker, one thinner for the light and the other thicker for the darkness.

Same with the Northern Lights tone.

Now, once the first tones are dry, I add darker or lighter tones. This is important: let each color dry, especially if you need to add another color on top, or they will mix together. Just like any watercolor.

Another example with Sea Glass and Peacock blue tones.

I start with the lightest shade slightly thick...

...and I continue with the very watery dark tone.

And the rest of the details with Vintage Mercury and Beach Sand tones. I haven't been able to work these two well so more practice for me!!

And look at this beautiful metallic tone! It's like having your own metallic watercolors, simply gorgeous!

The important thing is to experiment and practice a lot... and have a great time!
Thanks for reading, see you soon!
