Altered Mixed Media Can with Perfect Paints!

Hello, friends! Nicole here with a fun mixed media project I created using some White Gesso, Polishing Plaster, and the Perfect Clear Texture Gel Medium. One thing I enjoy is recycling, but I also like to find new ways to make trash treasures! I decided to make a fun mixed media piece to hold my paint brushes and palette knives.

To begin, I painted two Coats of White Gesso all over the outside of the can. I waited for the gesso to dry completely before applying the Polishing Plaster.

Initially, I was going to use the Jack Frost Polishing Plaster along with the Riverstone, Gilded Azure, and Organic Sugar, but decided to use the Cayenne instead... I though the touch of red with the yellow, White and Blue would look cool.

After the gesso was completely dry, I applied the polishing plaster from lightest to darkest letting each color dry before applying the next color. For the Gilded Azure, I literally scraped it on so that it was thinner than the other two colors.

I used the Perfect Clear Texture Gel Medium to glue the crystal knobs at the bottom. I've had these in my stash for quite some time and thought it would be cool to use on this project.

I used my fingers to smear the polishing plasters all over the metal embellishments.

After the metal embellishments were completely dry, I used the Perfect Clear Texture Gel Medium to glue the butterflies onto the can. I love how this turn out and there's so much texture!! So pretty!!! Thanks so much for visiting today! I hope you found this project inspiring!
