Let's try paint resin with Shimmering Matte Acrylics!
Hello everyone! Myry here again with another experiment with Shimmering Matte Acrylics!
In my previous post I used air dry clay, but instead of with a white base (like in my first post "Rococo strawberries"), with a dark base and no primer. This time I'm going to try painting these resin figures.
If you want to use epoxy resin I recommend mixing it with white pigment. I prefer to use Ceramic powder (my favorite) or Casting resin, by the way. But for this occasion I'm going to use the resin without pigment, all clear!
Once dry, it would be good to add a layer of primer or gesso before painting.
The blue one has no primer: it has needed about 3 layers of color to hide the material.
I used "Sea glass" as a base color, "Peacock blue" for the shadows, and "Halo" mixed with glitter for the ornaments.
The pink one has primer: a single layer has been enough to hide the material.
I used "Ballet slipper" as a base color, "Coral" for the shadows, and "Halo" mixed with glitter for the ornaments.
There are notable differences in the finish of each one due to the use/not of primer.
I wanted to take advantage of the fact that one of the figures had a crack to experiment with the Polishing Plasters instead of using gesso, medium or something like that.
Take a look!
I used "Dove's wing" to  fill the crack. Then I painted over it and I have to say that I'm very impressed with the result!
To finish, I used "Perfect glaze medium" to give it a glazed/glossy look.
Super cute!
These paints work very well with a wide variety of materials. If you like clay, resin, ceramic figures... you should try them!
Have a good week!
Myry
