Hello crafty friends! It’s Eva here and today I’m sharing a bright, bold, and berry-sweet card that brings together my love for layering, colour and of course—Perfect Paints!
As soon as I decided to create a strawberry-themed card, I knew I'd be working with lots of reds and greens. I started with a soft patterned background as my base. But as always, I felt the base needed more life and detail and that’s when I reached for my favourite Perfect Paints products to work their magic.

To create some subtle texture in the background, I used Salt Water Taffy Polishing Plaster through my favourite alphabet stencil from Tim Holtz. I love how this plaster adds not just texture but also a touch of storytelling to the base.

If I had found my Shimmering Sage in time, I would have used it here too as it’s a perfect match for this palette! But Salt Water Taffy stepped in beautifully to keep the card soft and dreamy.
Next came the ladybirds—yes, lots of them! I’ve always loved how they look on foliage and somehow strawberries and ladybirds just felt right together. Almost like a walk in a strawberry field, fresh and full of life.
Red
To make everything pop, I used Red Wagon Shimmering Acrylics— a bright, juicy red that truly makes the elements come alive. I let the paint drip through parts of the card and even splattered a little to make it feel wild and spontaneous.
For that extra sparkle, I added a few touches of Vintage Mercury—it gave the card a little metallic drama, like morning dew shining in the sun.

I dug into my stash for everything red I could find—ribbons, berries, flowers, chipboard and started building up layers with foliage to complete the scene. It almost felt like crafting inside a strawberry shortcake dream!

This card is filled with little elements, but the paints are what tied them all together. Without the texture, shimmer and shine from Perfect Paints, this card would’ve felt flat. Instead, it turned into something glowing, alive, and full of “sweetness.”
If you loved how these colours worked together, do try combining your own red and green elements with these beautiful mediums. I’d love to hear what you think!
