Hello crafty friends!
Today’s post is a little different because I did something I don’t usually do. I painted! I’ve been stuck in a bit of an art block lately, and instead of overthinking it, I decided to just pick up my paints and have some fun.
Let me walk you through how I created this magical little scene using some fabulous Perfect Paints and trust me, these shimmer paints are no joke.

Step-by-Step:
I started off by stamping some whimsical enchanted forest elements and a fairy from my stash. These were going to be the stars of my card, so I wanted them to feel extra magical. For a dreamy palette, I went with the classic and magical pink + green combo.

I grabbed my Peony Pink Shimmering Matte Acrylics from Perfect Paints and started painting the lotus flowers. It gave them the prettiest pink shimmer, almost like fairy dust!

Next up was the foliage. I used the Spring Green Shimmering Matte Acrylics to paint all the leafy bits. I kept most of the background green to create that lush, forest vibe.

The fairy got a dreamy makeover too! I diluted a bit of the Peony Pink to make her dress soft and delicate. Then I added some details with Sangria Shimmering Matte Acrylics. And to top it all off, I added touches of Honey Gold shimmer. Because no fairy is complete without some golden magic.

Once everything was dry, I fussy cut all the elements and started layering them on a card base. A little foam tape here, a little glue there and voilà!

I finished it off with a simple “Fly High” sentiment, because that’s exactly what I needed to hear today and maybe you do too.
Honestly, painting is still a bit scary for me, but today I let go and just enjoyed the process. It was messy, shimmery, and so much fun. If you're ever stuck in an art block like I was, just grab your paints and see where they take you maybe you might just end up in a magical forest like I did.
