Beautifully Strange Altered Frame with Perfect Paints

Hello everyone!! Jenn here and I am so happy to share another fun altered project with you! This began as a plain black frame. Join me as I show you the transformation to creating a beautiful home decor piece for that purple lover in your life! I will combine several colors of Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paints to create a multicolored masterpiece!

Supplies:

Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint Grape

Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint Peony Pink

Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint Periwinkle Blue

Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint Washed Teal

Instructions:

Prepare the frame by applying black gesso. Allow to dry completely or dry with a heat tool.

Next add color by using the Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paints one at a time and blending them to create a rainbow effect. The Periwinkle is not shown but was used on my frame. This process was done several times to get the desired coloration.

Once the desired color mix is reached and dry, use a matte black acrylic paint to paint over the entire frame. While still tacky, wipe off the raised areas with a damp cloth to reveal the colors.

Add a colorful decorative background using a piece of cut to size paper and add it to the frame as you would a photo.

Add embellishments and build a focal point.

To finish, use a bit of white matte acrylic paint to splatter here and there.
