Hi, friends! It's Walter back on the blog with you today. We're officially in wedding season now that we're in May and moving into June. I thought it would be fun to create a vintage themed wedding card using Perfect Paints Polishing Plasters and Shimmering Matte Acrylics, a much-loved stencil, and elements from Tim Holtz Idea-ology. While not a conventional wedding card design, I think that this beautiful card would be appreciated by any happy couple. Let's dive in!

I used the following Perfect Paints products to create it:
Distress Inks: Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, and Scorched Timber
Altenew Floral Radiance Stencil Set
Altenew Scripted Sentiments Die Set
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mini Paper Dolls and Photo Studio Frames
Brushed Gold Card Stock
4"x5.25" piece of cardstock
A2 card base
Brown shipping paper
Here's how I made it:
I started by mixing a small amount of Vintage Patina Shimmering Matte Acrylic with some Perfect Glaze Medium to make it more translucent since I didn't want it to be too overpowering. I used a paint brush to paint it onto the piece of 4"x5.25"cardstock and let it dry.

The Floral Radiance Stencil Set has four stencils to create the background. I aligned the first stencil, which creates the base florals, onto the cardstock, taped it down with low tack tape, and used a palette knife to spread Perfect Paints Sangria Polishing Plaster onto it. I removed the stencil and let the Polishing Plaster dry.
I repeated this same step for each of the remaining three stencils: Sunset Blush Polishing Plaster on stencil 2 for the floral detail, Frosted Pine Polishing Plaster and Organic Sugar Polishing Plaster on stencil 3 for the base leaves and floral centers, and Nature's Patina Polishing Plaster on stencil four for the details on the leaves.

I let all of the layers of Polishing Plaster dry and then ink blended Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks over the card panel to add some grunge and age to it. I then ran the Scorched Timber Distress Ink around the edges of the panel.

I selected one of the Tim Holtz Idea-ology frames and mini paper doll of a couple getting married and distressed then with the same Distress Ink shades. I adhered the frame down to the card panel using double sided foam tape strips and glued down the couple inside the frame. I then die cut the words with love from the brushed gold cardstock and glued them down to the card panel. This completed the card panel!
For the card base, I cut a piece of brown shipping paper down to slightly larger than A2. I crumbled up the paper two times to give it lots of wrinkles. I put double sided tape onto the A2 card base, laid the wrinkled paper on it and pressed it into place.

Detail scissors were used to trim away the excess shipping paper. I ink blended some Vintage Photo Distress ink onto the card base and then ran the Scorched Timber Distress Ink around the edges of it.

I adhered the card panel to the card base using double sided foam tape strips and then mixed some Tea Dye Distress Ink and water to add some splatters of age. The card was complete! I'm very happy with how this design turned out. The stenciled Polishing Plaster background almost looks like a tapestry - it's quite stunning. It looks so nice against the distressed card base.

I hope that you enjoyed walking through my design with me! Do you like it? What's your favorite aspect of it? I'll be seeing you here on the blog again next month. Until then . . . be well!
