Art Journaling with Perfect Paints!

Howdy, Candy here. Have you been in a creative slump lately? I know how that is. Here is a great way to pull yourself out of that dark place, lol. I have had this art journal for over ten years, I jump in and out of it when I have a creative block. It is a great place to play with product that you have that you haven't tried yet, or not used in a long time. You know you have those things lying around in your craft area. Using an art journal really gives you creative freedom to play with the product you have, especially paints.

I am sharing a two-page spread that I did with all Perfect Paints Shimmering Acrylic Paints, Polishing Plaster, and White Succo Texture Medium. Be sure to check out the quick video at the end that shows some pages of the journal, some of which no one has ever seen and some sneak peek photos of what is inside. I am sharing my art soul here!

First, we lay down White Stucco Texture Medium over the selected stencils. Let dry.

Using Perfect Paints Shimmering Acrylics Bright Gold and Cantaloupe, water down just a bit to get more coverage on the page. I added some Oyster Bay Medium around the page to give it a light effect on this layer. The coloring is different than a white stucco as it creates a subtle texture for the final look. When I create a journal page there are often many layers that only peek through in the final project.

Using a paint brush, add fun circles randomly on the page.

Once the paint dries, grab a fine-tip black marker and make circles around the painted circles. I also added some little splats of paint randomly. I then used the White Stucco to mimic the look of grout and random placement of the raw stucco look.
