Part I. Dollhouse Renovation: Using Texture Medium in Unconventional Ways.

As I unveil the first installment of this series, I am thrilled to showcase the various techniques I have used with Perfect Paints and texture mediums to personalize my dollhouse renovation. My hope is that my creations will spark inspiration and encourage others to get creative with their own dollhouses.

For as long as I can remember, I have been enamored with the world of dollhouses. The intricate details, the miniature furniture, and the endless opportunities for creativity and imagination have always captivated me. However, it wasn't until later in life that I was able to fulfill my childhood dream of owning a dollhouse of my own. After years of searching and collecting supplies, I finally stumbled upon the perfect one for me - a beautiful Tudor-style dollhouse on Facebook Marketplace. Though life's obstacles may have delayed my dream, I am now more determined than ever to embark on this journey and bring my dollhouse to life. As I delve into this exciting project, I invite you to join me as I share the joys and challenges of building and decorating my dream dollhouse.

There is one particular style that has stood the test of time and captured my heart - the Tudor style. Its classic lines and charming details have always appealed to me, making it a close second to my all-time favorite style, Victorian. So when I had the opportunity to work on a project that combined both Tudor and Victorian elements, I was ecstatic.

For me, one of the most important aspects was the chimney. I wanted it to be a standout feature, something that would add character and charm to this dollhouse. I immediately grabbed some egg cartons and Riverstone Texture medium. I began by cutting out circles in the shape of large stones. I made sure the rough, textured side was facing up. Adding Riverstone as the grout, brought my vision to life and created a stunningly textured chimney that perfectly complemented the overall design.

I placed the stones randomly and used a pallet knife, I felt like a home contractor doing a real house, it was so much fun.

Now it's time to cover it and make it look like brownstone. I first used Perfect Paints Polishing Plaster's newly released Whipped Caramel to give it that brownstone effect, then added highlights of "Bright Gold and Aged Copper Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paints.
